Position: Coordinator, Education (Full Time) Project: Organization-wide Description: The Coordinator, Education will have the opportunity to participate in redesigning the organization’s educational endeavors across projects and supervising the programs including balwadi, support classes, non-formal education programs, and administration of National Institute of Open Schooling program. This includes coordination and guidance of teachers of these programs. Candidates should be dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative and willing to work hard to build a successful, effective program. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Education degree, some teaching experience, interest in development sector, awareness of social issues, sensitivity towards project participants, fluent in Hindi and English.
Position: Teacher – National Institute of Open Schooling program (Full Time) Project: Organization-wide Description: The individual in this position will guide Saathi’s project participants in their NIOS studies according to topics enrolled. Enrollees primarily from Saathi’s Youth Initiative and Girls Projects (ages 16-24). Course material ranges from 4th Standard to 12th Standard. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Education degree, some teaching experience especially within a non formal context, interest in the development sector, awareness of social issues, sensitivity towards project participants, fluent in Hindi.
Position: Social Worker (Full Time) Project: Girls Project Description: The successful female candidate will have the opportunity to work with all aspects of individual cases, building rapport with girls staying with the organization and assisting them in exploring options. Liaison on their behalf with appropriate agencies and organizations which would be of assistance to their rehabilitation/reintegration processes. This candidate would be joining a full team that is handling several aspects of the many issues faced by adolescent girls away from home. Minimum Requirements: BSW, interest in development sector, awareness of social issues, sensitivity towards project participants, fluent in Hindi, dynamic and proactive.
Position: Outreach Worker (2) Project: Home Placement Project Description: The successful candidates will work to reach children and youth arriving at local train terminuses (currently Bandra and Mumbai Central), establishing contact and rapport with them, and introducing them to the project and handling their case. For those choosing to return home, this person will trace the family and accompany the child home. Additionally, this worker will establish contacts with local stakeholders in and around the areas where outreach is conducted to educate them about the issues, how to identify children and youth arriving alone, and how to protect them until Saathi reaches them. Minimum Requirements: Para-professional diploma with 1-2 years experience, dynamic, “people person”, sensitivity to participants and stakeholders, awareness of social issues. |
